Systal is pleased to have partnered with The Edinburgh Remerkery to donate end of life technology for refurbishment and reuse to support digital inclusion.

At Systal, we believe that how an organisation manages its technology says as much about its values as how it deploys it.

Through our partnership with The Edinburgh Remerkery: a social enterprise dedicated to refurbishing and redistributing technology to individuals and communities who need it most, we are contributing to a more digitally inclusive and sustainable future.

Rather than being decommissioned and discarded, these laptops will be refurbished and gifted to people for whom access to technology isn’t guaranteed, helping to close the digital divide in a practical, meaningful way.

Our Executive Operations Lead Tereze Finnegan shares “Our partnership with Edinburgh Remakery reflects Systal’s commitment to driving meaningful, measurable impact through sustainability. By working together, we are not only reducing e-waste through responsible reuse and recycling, but also supporting digital inclusion and community wellbeing, turning end-of-life technology into a force for positive change”

Sustainable IT isn’t just about reducing e-waste. It’s about recognising that technology holds value long beyond its first lifecycle, and that Systal have a role to play in ensuring that value reaches the people and communities who need it.
